Hello, and
Happy Thanksgiving!
Ken made it back to St. Mary's around 8pm Friday night. I stuck
around Kingston to see him before I left for the weekend. The
transport guys wheeled him into his room. He was wide awake, but
looked to be in a little pain... maybe it was a bumpy ride.
They had some local freezing that would have worn off by the end of
the night. But Ken had pain medication available to take for when
that happened. He had bandages just over top of the incision, and
his head looked good!!
He was to take it easy with what he ate and drank that night...Very
common to experience nausea after a surgery, so they start you off
with just clear liquids!
Uncle Carmen was in early on Saturday. He said Ken was in good
spirits all day and was pleased when the IV came out! He was back up
to his regular diet by supper time.
He was pretty sore, including his neck, likely the position he had
it in while in the OR. Now it's a bit stiff.
As of last night it was doubtful that Ken would take the trip home
today. Maybe a bit too sore this weekend. I haven't heard from
anyone today. He'll get some pumpkin pie either way!
