I guess Ken kept aunt Wendy busy this afternoon. I haven't talked with her about how he was... she's laying down, she has a headache.
I went up after work today to visit. He had to pee and i handed him the urinal, stepped out of the room and he was able to use it all by himself. not even a half an hour later he was complaining that he needed to use it again. He is peeing frequently and small amounts. I asked the nurse if they could scan his bladder. I was wondering... If his bladder full and he is only able to pee small amounts each time and not completely empty it.. or is the slightest sense of urine in the bladder triggering him to want to pee...
Anyways the battery on the scanner wasn't working properly... but i was explaining to Ken what we were trying to do.. I described it like an ultrasound. ha ha .. once the nurse left he wrote "is there a baby growing in side" ha ha he was joking of course!!!
He described his pain as a beating. punches and kicks all over his body. I reminded him that he needs to ask for pain medication when he has pain. He states this is what keeps him up at night. the call bell never seems to be around him and he wrote down keep it where i can reach it..... so we posted it up.
We told Ken about the potato fundraiser from the camp and he thought it was great, and he would like to buy 110 !!
He was very chatty tonight. using his sounds.... he was trying so hard to say everything. It was a bit frustrating that we couldn't always make out what he was saying. He asked me how work was! and says thank you... and he was writing lots of stuff for us too. He's not using his suction barely at all... just for brushing his teeth now i think! He's swallowing much better!! the odd time he will keep a paper towel or a washcloth in his mouth!!
he's working very hard!!!
